Path of Exile Item Upgrading

Players can upgrade their weapons and equipment by adding new attachments. They can also improve its base stats or add additional benefits. To upgrade items, the player must have the item level upgrade in their inventory, and also access the kiln.

Items with weak bases, like rings, can be upgraded into more robust bases. Items with strong bases, such as Titans from eth, have no change in their stats.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components can be added to weapons, armors trinkets, weapons and gathering tools. They give you an attribute bonus, or an additional benefit, while the equipment is in use. They can be bought from vendors, gathered in loot, thrown away by enemies, or obtained as a reward for missions or chests. Certain upgrades also have cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be at a certain level to upgrade.

To upgrade the quality of a weapon, armor or other item in the game, the player will need to select it and then click on the Upgrade button in the toolbar. This will show a preview on the right side of the screen showing what the expected upgrade statistics will be, as well as the necessary element or material required for the upgrade to take place.

There are three types of universal upgrades (which include gems), prefix upgrades, and suffix upgrade components. Universal upgrades, which include gems, are able to be used in any kind of equipment, and offer lower bonuses than upgrade components that are type-restricted. Infusions are jewels that are only available in legendary and ascended equipment. They offer the same benefits as jewels, but they cannot be used in any other equipment. Suffix upgrades are able to be placed in gathering tools, will add their names to the end of the name of the item upgrader mod they are attached to, for instance adding a Glyph to the Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor would make it a Canthan Staff Wrapping of Minor Vigor.

If the player upgrades their gathering tool, and replaces the glyphs with a different one, the old one will be returned to their inventory. If you replace another upgrade component the item will be destroyed, with the exception for the inscriptions that are able to be swapped.

Leveling

Path of Exile's upgrade process differs from previous versions in some fundamental ways. Gear is now broken down into tracks and items can be upgraded a specific number of times before they are "leveled out." The cost of upgrading increases with each level, however the materials required for upgrades do not. This allows players to concentrate their efforts on a select few items and maximize the impact of those items, rather than spreading upgrade costs over multiple pieces.

This allows the item to receive upgraded components, and have a greater chance of success. This bonus is referred to as the Artisan's Energy, and it will reset to zero in the event of failure, or increases when the upgrade succeeds.

Once a piece is upgraded to its highest level it can be eligible to be given affixes that enhance its capabilities. The amount of affixes available is determined by the item's type. For example an uncommon or rare weapon with a normal base will only have two affixes to choose from, while a legendary armor will have up to eight affixes available for it.

Each upgrade requires an amount of Flightstones and crests depending on the item's current level and the item upgrades slot it's in. Weapons will typically require more Flightstones than other equipment.

If an Item Upgrader Mod does not reach its maximum level, the NPC offers the player the option to transfer it to another character and re-infuse the item with a new set or upgrades. This process can take up to two hours and will cost the same amount of material, though it will result in less chance of success.

To measure the height of a structure engineers utilize a level to compare the measurement with an established reference point such as a benchmark or the elevation of the ground. This is referred to as a "level-loop." This involves taking readings using the level, backsighting rod, and then turning the level to take the foresighting rod reading. This method ensures that buildings are constructed to a high standard of safety and accuracy.

Rerolling

Rerolling is the process of changing the upgrade components of an item. It is a very important element of the game, and it can boost an item's damage, strength or other characteristics. This can be done through the item menu or clicking the Reroll button on an upgraded item. Rerolling items can be costly and should be used sparingly.

Reroll tokens are obtained by recycling upgraded items. These tokens can be used to upgrade item the original item or another similar item. Recyclable items have an indicator that indicates the level of upgrade. The amount of level that has been filled is based on the rarity and cost of upgrading of the item.

Prior to this, certain upgrades were given priority affixes which made them easier to roll. It meant that you'd get the stats most important to your build more often than others. This included things like the armor's total armor, thorns, and control impaired duration reduction stats or the weapon's bonus attack speed and critical strike chance.

This changed with the recent patch. Priority affixes are no longer required and all upgrades will have the same chances of rolling for every stat. This can be a great or a negative thing dependent on your needs and wants from your equipment.

Each upgraded item could be equipped with a special, fixed-value bonus that increases its power by a specific percentage. These bonuses are added to standard affixes. The more you upgrade an item, the greater the chance of receiving the bonus of your choice.

The game also comes with a number of sets, which grant a set bonus when three or more upgraded items from the same set are equipped on the same unit. This is a great method to add a lot of power to a character without spending a lot of money.

Many players are known to reroll their weapons and equipment particularly in the initial stages. Rerolling can help you get a more powerful character faster, allowing players to advance in the game and reach higher levels.

Sets

Sets are collections of elements that can be put together in different ways. They can be of various dimensions, contain no elements at all or contain just one element. They are useful for organizing data or sorting information. They can also be useful in studying patterns. Sets can be categorized in many ways, such as by size and shape.

There are a variety of set items that can be upgraded in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Certain items are worth upgrading and others aren't. Armor sets that provide the highest defense value or set bonuses are generally worth upgrading. Weapon upgrades are not as effective in boosting stats as their purple counterparts. This makes them less attractive to upgrade if your collection of armor and weapons pieces is already extensive.

Set items can be upgraded to include special procs that are useful for specific builds. This is evident in Aldur's Advance Boots and Guillaume's Face. Both were upgraded from Exceptional Winged Helm and Exceptional Mirrored Boots respectively, boosting their defense by 217 to 321 (Strength requirement and Level requirement increased as well).

Another reason for upgrading certain items is to bring them into the same level with their tiers. The Immortal King Set, for instance, comes with a wide range of levels, from 29 to 75. Upgrading lower-level set items can boost their defense and make them more competitive in terms of damage.

Clicking the Upgrade button will display the attributes of the item as well as the items required to upgrade it. The item's attributes will be displayed together with any required items. To upgrade the No-mouth face for example, 1.1K Scrap Materials will be required, as well as 250 Enchanted Dust and 5 Glowing Shards. Alternately, players can visit the Leaderboard or Golden vendor in Cyrodiil to see the upgrade requirements for specific items.

In general generally speaking, jewelry and weapons offer better trade value when fully upgraded than armor. Upgrades to gold are recommended for weapons with spell/weapon-damage glyphs.
