World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades increase the value of certain numeric stats on armor, weapons and rings. Upgrades also increase bonuses such as Crit chance and damage from PvE.

For instance an item with the upgrade template that is ending in % will gain an attack damage of 3% each time it is upgraded (relative to its previous value).

The cost of upgrading an item increases as it reaches the current level of the item. The cost increases with item's level.

Components

Upgrade components can be added to weapons, armor and trinkets to give them a stat boost or add a bonus effect. They can be obtained through making crafts, buying from vendors, trading with other players, or looting. Some upgrades have special cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can only be applied to devices that have slots. The item upgrade must be upgraded to blue level before a component can be applied. Like other mods, upgrade components can only be used once and cannot be applied repeatedly or replaced with upgrades. Infusions and Enrichments are type of upgrade component that is used to upgrade non-amulet legendary or ascending equipment, as in some items that aren't ascended. Enrichments and Infusions can be obtained by salvaging ascended equipment or completing a quest in the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.

An upgrade can include a suffix or prefix changing the name of the item to the upgrade (for examplefor example "Canthan Armor Insignia' becomes Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades can increase the Mark Rarity or Level of an item, allowing players to create stronger versions of the item using the smallest amount of upgrade crystals than they require to achieve the same level using normal methods.

A 'boost upgrade' can alter the attack or defense attributes of a weapon or armor. After the player has completed the cutscene and defeated the Crazed Mechanist, these upgrades can be crafted at the Portative Forging Station. They can be dropped by enemies while upgrading other gear or buying them in the cash shop for 500 upgrade crystals each.

Each upgrade increases the likelihood that a higher-tier version of an item upgrader will be dropped at the next reset. This gives the player some incentive to continue improving their equipment even if they're uncertain of how much it will improve after a future reset.

The process of upgrading an item can be expensive and it's possible that the item will be obsolete, or even break, if the upgrade fails. Upgrade Crystals and assist powders are also destroyed when the upgrade fails. This is reduced by the availability of cash shop items that can double or even eliminate possibility of failure, as well as some upgrades that provide the benefit of being reinserted into an item.

Glyphs

Glyphs are upgrade parts that can be placed in special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs can boost the performance of nodes within a radius, including any existing affixes. Glyphs can be upgraded in many ways, and we suggest getting them to level 15 as soon as you can.

In the final game, you will often find that the Best item upgrader way to improve your equipment is to use Glyphs. They are the only upgrade component that can be upgraded to level 15 and offer an enormous boost to your power on the Paragon Board.

Glyphs, which is the only upgrade component which can be removed without restriction and replaced again are the most popular. The only exception is legendary equipment that requires a Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and then re-install.

The value of each Glyph is displayed when you select it from your inventory. You can decide to replace it with a different Glyph of the same rank, or a higher rank, which will boost the overall value of the Glyph.

Glyphs are available in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of a Gem Store bundle or purchase the glyphs with certain tools that allow unlimited use, and during Faction Crypt Raids. Each Faction Crypt could drop one of these Glyphs. There are also some rare glyphs that you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.

Once you have gotten the desired Glyphs you will require them to be placed on your gear. Each Glyph will unlock a unique bonus that boosts a particular set of stat nodes within a radius around the Glyph. This will either be +40 for one of your primary stats, or +25 for two of your secondary stats depending on the Glyph.

Glyphs will boost all nodes that are connected to them, so it is recommended to place Glyphs in strategic locations on the Graph. This will increase the impact. For instance an Druid should try to place their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes, but also be sure to place them near the most critical damage nodes as well.

Leveling

The upgrade system for items allows players to increase the stats of specific items by introducing upgraded components. This is commonly known as "upping". Each upgradeable item is assigned a level that determines the final stats. Upgraded items can be upgraded up to a maximum of 385. Each level of item requires various components, and upgrade costs increase with each level.

Certain upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient is obtained by completing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes are available in the upgrade tab of a crafting table or obtained from NPCs. Each Upgrade Recipe completed yields a certain number of Technology points. These points can be used for upgrading an item. When enough points have been earned, you will be able to claim the upgrade and get its extra bonuses.

When a player upgrades an item it is replaced with a different item of the same type. This means that the same armor piece will become a weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item also has its own bonus. This could be a disadvantage since the item upgrades may be more expensive even if you do not need it.

Item upgrades can sometimes be rerolled if the player has enough reroll tokens to do so. This causes the item to be traded for a new one, which will come with the level 1 base, and a different set of bonuses. This can be useful but it should not be used frequently as it can waste resources.

Certain upgrades can boost their value, allowing players to customize their gear. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, as it gives buffs when the player repeatedly enters or exits water. This can be upgraded several times, each time increasing the maximum roll by 10 points. This item is extremely useful in PvP battles, since the best version of it could be worth between 20 and 50 times its value without being upgraded.

Requirements

The ability to upgrade items allows players to upgrade the level of their available gear--armor, weapons and trinkets that are above ilvl 385 by offering the appropriate items and currencies to an NPC who upgrades items. Upgrades to armor set pieces increase its base defense, while upgrades to weapon items boost their base damage and also increase their strength and dexterity.

Each item can be upgraded up to five times, with the exception of hero gear which can have eight upgrades. Each time you upgrade an object, it has a chance of failing. The rate of failure increases when you exceed the maximum number. Failures will result in the item returning to its original condition which means that the player has to spend additional items than if they stopped upgrading after the maximum number.

If an item is not upgraded the experience bar on its growth bar will reset to zero. The item also loses any bonuses it has gained, such as crit chance damage to attack, other effects (such as an increase in healing over time, or reloading speed). The player will be able to use their weapon or armor even after the failure.

If an item is upgraded, the upgrades are applied from the lowest to the highest. This means that the weapon that is upgraded gains a crit chance increase that it will be applied prior to any damage from attacks increases. A new attribute called Slots is now added to the item level upgrade's definition and the value is recomputed every time an upgrade is applied.

The amount of resources required to upgrade an item is determined on the rarity rating as well as the number of upgrade slots. The cost of upgrading equipment that is not premium is equal to its base value. For example an item that is commonplace could have five upgrades at a cost. 25,600 Technology Points and a 4x Quality Improvement Chance--whereas hero grade items will have the lowest cost for each upgrade.

Premium items might have different upgrade requirements than normal equipment. For instance, they may need less sowels, however they may require more minerals and orons. The player will need to carry every piece of gear they wish to upgrade to the NPC [ArmorBoboko. Boboko located in Central Flarine. In addition to the upgrade cost mentioned above, each equipment upgrade will require a different amount of the upgrade ingredients.
